Russian Checkers (8x8): Rules Summary
- Movement & Capture: White moves first. Pieces move diagonally on dark squares only. Captures are mandatory. Multiple captures are allowed, but only one piece can be captured per jump. Kings move and capture diagonally any distance.
- Kinging: A piece becomes a king upon reaching the opposite end of the board and can immediately use king moves if a capture is available.
- Draw Conditions: A draw is declared under several conditions relating to piece counts, move repetition, and lack of captures over a certain number of moves. Specific details are provided in the full rules.
International Checkers (10x10): Rules Summary
- Movement & Capture: Similar to Russian checkers, with White moving first, diagonal movement on dark squares, and mandatory captures.
- Kinging: A piece becomes a king when it reaches the opponent's end. If a piece captures and reaches the end, it remains a regular piece until the next turn.
- Capture Priority: The "majority rule" applies; when multiple capture options exist, the one capturing the most pieces must be chosen.
