Stellar Blade: PC Port Rumors Fuel Speculation

Shift Up, the developer behind Stellar Blade, has hinted at a potential PC port for the acclaimed PS5 exclusive. While the game's initial release was solely on PlayStation 5 due to a partnership with Sony, recent comments suggest a PC version is under consideration.

Following a successful April launch, Stellar Blade achieved impressive sales figures and critical acclaim, even topping US sales charts, surpassing titles like Helldivers 2 and Dragon's Dogma 2. The game boasts an 82 average rating on OpenCritic, based on 124 reviews.

During a recent IPO press conference, reported by GameMeca (via VGC), CEO Kim Hyung-Tae stated that a PC port is being "considered," but a timeline remains uncertain due to existing contractual obligations. CFO Jae-woo Ahn further emphasized the growing PC market dominance for AAA titles and expressed optimism about a potential PC release, highlighting its potential to increase the IP's value.

Strong Indications for a PC Port

Shift Up's previous financial report already alluded to both a sequel and a PC port for Stellar Blade, reflecting the game's strong performance. The latest statements from the CEO and CFO reinforce this interest. Given Sony's increasing trend of bringing PlayStation exclusives to PC (as evidenced by the upcoming PC release of God of War: Ragnarok), a Stellar Blade PC port seems increasingly likely.

Meanwhile, Shift Up continues to refine the PS5 version, though a recent update introduced some graphical glitches. The developer has acknowledged these issues and is working on a resolution.
