Marvel Rivals follows the footsteps of Overwatch with its Spring Festival event

Marvel Rivals is launching its major Spring Festival event this Thursday! This exciting event features a free Star-Lord costume and a brand-new game mode: Clash of Dancing Lions.

In Clash of Dancing Lions, three-player teams compete to score a ball in their opponent's goal. While the gameplay may evoke comparisons to Rocket League, it bears a closer resemblance to Overwatch's Lucioball – another three-on-three goal-scoring mode.

This comparison is particularly interesting given Marvel Rivals' recent success, surpassing Overwatch in popularity. To establish its own unique identity and differentiate itself from Blizzard's title, Marvel Rivals needs to cultivate original content. The introduction of a game mode so similar to Overwatch's inaugural event, albeit with a distinct Chinese New Year theme instead of an Olympic theme, is a noteworthy observation.

The good news is that players won't have to wait long to experience the Spring Festival event and its new game mode. The festivities begin this Thursday!
