Apple’s June 2025 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) has officially wrapped up, leaving behind a wave of excitement as the tech giant unveiled iOS 26 and its groundbreaking Liquid Glass design. Alongside that, Apple gave us a sneak peek into major updates coming to iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Vision Pro, and more—set to roll out later this year.
As part of Apple’s shift toward naming software updates after the upcoming year, iOS 26 is being positioned as one of the most significant upgrades in the platform’s history. The keynote offered an in-depth look at Liquid Glass, macOS Tahoe, new features for gamers, and much more—all expected to launch globally this fall.
The WWDC 2025 keynote spanned an hour and a half filled with announcements, but we’ve compiled all the key highlights below so you can stay up to date on everything Apple just revealed.
It’s been over a decade since Apple last introduced a major design overhaul for iOS—dating back to iOS 7 in 2013. Now, in 2025, Apple has officially announced iOS 26 along with Liquid Glass, a bold, modern interface refresh set to roll out across all Apple devices. This redesign touches every corner of the ecosystem, bringing a fresh, fluid visual language to iPhone, iPad, tvOS, watchOS, and beyond.
Now that Apple has shared the full scope of iOS 26 and Liquid Glass, we also have a clearer timeline. Developer betas are launching today, followed by a public beta in July. The full public release of iOS 26 and Liquid Glass is expected this fall.
Liquid Glass isn’t just about aesthetics—it's transforming functionality too. On iPhone, the calling experience gets a major overhaul. Users will now be able to customize the layout of their Phone app based on personal preferences. Additional features include a pre-screen mode that lets callers leave a message before the call connects and improved detection of hold music during calls.
Messaging is getting a fresh coat of Liquid Glass as well. iOS 26 brings new customization options such as conversation-specific backgrounds and enhanced spam filtering. Group chats receive notable improvements, including a long-awaited typing indicator that shows when someone in your group chat is composing a message.
Mac users aren’t left behind in this transformation. macOS Tahoe ushers in the Liquid Glass aesthetic with a sleek new look, deeper customization, and a unified design language across Apple platforms. One standout feature is the addition of a native phone app, aligning macOS even more closely with iOS capabilities.
With the latest version of watchOS, Apple introduces Workout Buddy, a smart assistant powered by artificial intelligence. It learns from your workout habits, training load, and history to provide personalized motivation. During workouts, it delivers real-time voice encouragement and will soon support custom routines and integrated playlist controls.
iPadOS 26 marks a turning point for multitasking and productivity on Apple tablets. At WWDC 2025, Apple introduced a new windowing system that enables seamless multitasking. A customizable menu bar further enhances the user experience, making the iPad feel more like a desktop environment.
“iPadOS 26 is our biggest iPadOS release ever, with powerful features that take the experience to the next level and transform what users can do on iPad,” said Craig Federighi, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Software Engineering. “With a beautiful new design, an entirely new powerful and intuitive windowing system, even more features powered by Apple Intelligence, huge improvements to working with files, and new capabilities for creatives to power their workflows, iPadOS 26 makes our most versatile device even more capable.”
Apple’s premium augmented reality headset, the Apple Vision Pro, is receiving a suite of enhancements with visionOS 26. Among the most notable changes are the introduction of widgets—an enhancement that may seem small but significantly improves usability. The headset will also gain compatibility with external accessories such as the Logitech stylus and Sony’s PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers.
In a move aimed at unifying mobile gaming experiences, Apple introduced a new all-in-one gaming app. Designed to streamline gameplay, this app allows users to track friends’ activity, participate in challenges, and access both single-player and multiplayer titles—from Vampire Survivors to Stardew Valley—all within a single hub.
Stay tuned for more updates as they develop…
