Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios unveil "Avatar: Seven Havens," a brand-new animated series celebrating the 20th anniversary of the beloved franchise. Created by Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, the original series' masterminds, "Seven Havens" will be a 26-episode, 2D animated journey.
This new chapter introduces a young Earthbender, the Avatar succeeding Korra, in a world ravaged by a cataclysmic event. The press release describes a perilous setting where the Avatar's title signifies destruction rather than salvation. Hunted by both human and spirit foes, the young Avatar and their long-lost twin must unravel their enigmatic past to safeguard the Seven Havens before societal collapse.
DiMartino and Konietzko expressed their excitement, stating, "The creation of the original series never anticipated this continued world expansion decades later. This new Avatarverse installment is brimming with fantasy, mystery, and a captivating array of characters."
"Avatar: Seven Havens" will unfold across two 13-episode seasons, structured as Book 1 and Book 2. Executive producers Ethan Spaulding and Sehaj Sethi join DiMartino and Konietzko in this collaborative effort. Casting details remain undisclosed.
This marks Avatar Studios' inaugural mainline television series. Simultaneously, they're developing a feature-length animated film centered on Aang, slated for a theatrical release on January 30, 2026, showcasing Aang's adventures in adulthood.
The 20th anniversary festivities extend beyond "Seven Havens," encompassing a diverse range of merchandise, including books, comics, concerts, toys, and a Roblox game.
