BrownDust2 Unveils Onsen Training Update with New Story

Neowiz and Gamfs N have just unveiled the first content update for BrownDust2 following its 1.5-year anniversary celebration in December. Dubbed Onsen Training, this update brings a sizzling new experience to the game.

Onsen Training transports players to a Japanese winter hot spring, where they'll engage in swordfighting battles and face a variety of BrownDust2-style challenges, complete with a dash of monkey mischief that adds a humorous twist.

BrownDust2 Is Ready for an Onsen Training

This update introduces three new characters to the game. Ventana, the protagonist of the story, along with Liberta, are available as playable characters through the pickup draw. Meanwhile, Blade remains exclusive to the narrative.

Set in the same universe as Character Pack 1: Jayden’s Gate of BrownDust2, the Onsen Training event story offers 30 battles, evenly split between 15 normal and 15 challenge modes.

The adventure kicks off with Ventana, the captain of the Kendo Club, who is reeling from a devastating defeat by Justia, a new student. Eager to restore her honor, Ventana heads to a snowy mountain hot spring reputed for boosting physical strength. However, her training takes an unexpected turn upon encountering the playful Snowy Mountain Monkeys.

Her rescue comes in the form of Blade, a legendary Kendo Club graduate, who initially declines her request for swordsmanship training. Enter Liberta, the hot spring manager, who steps up to assist Ventana in winning over Blade’s mentorship.

There’s a New Mini-Game

Introducing Onsen Tile Tactics, a new mini-game where players race against time to clear tiles. The event story unfolds in phases, starting with Legendary Graduate in the first week and culminating with Beyond Legend in the third week.

Players will also battle returning and new bosses. The first week sees the return of Giant Rou, the Fiend Hunter boss, while the third week introduces the fiery Snowy Mountain Tyrant, a massive monkey that becomes stronger when targeting enemies with damage-over-time effects.

Additionally, the Guild Raid will feature the debut of Rucersingha, the Ruler of the Void. This boss has no properties, unleashes devastating attacks, and requires numerous chain stacks to defeat.

The update also brings new gear and costumes. The Onsen Practitioner Ventana costume is available until January 30th, followed by the Onsen Manager Liberta costume, which will be accessible until February 13th.
