How to Start The Lion’s Crest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

Once you've navigated through the tutorial section of *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* and entered the open world, your first step is to find the scribe Gaibl in Troskowitz. A quick chat with him will kickstart The Lion’s Crest quest. He'll hand you a riddle and the smithing recipe for Brunswick’s polearm. While you'll need to source the materials on your own, you can forge the weapon at any blacksmith's forge.

The Lion’s Crest Riddle Solution

The riddle you receive is your roadmap to adventure:

“Take your leave of crone and maiden, standing tall behind the gates, boldly go towards true midnight, in caverns cold your prize awaits. Pass through the hall of forest kings, hidden deep from hunters’ gaze, standing tall two guards of stone, behind who yearned for treasure lays. Between then stands a mighty rock, a subtle niche yet deeper still, a place to give one’s heart to God, behold my armour gleaming still.”

To unravel this, head to Trosky Castle where you'll find the Crone Tower and Maiden Tower. Exit through the northern gates and trek northwards into the forest.

Stick to the road and keep an eye out on the left side. You'll soon encounter rocky formations with walkable crevices. Traverse these and you'll discover a cave housing a chapel. Inspect the cross on the rock beside it to claim the first piece of Brunswick’s Armour, along with two treasure maps to guide you further.

Map 1

The first map directs you to continue along the road past the chapel, heading west to a crossroads. From there, venture north into the woods to locate a wolf den. Just above the den, amidst the trees, you'll find a bag containing the second piece of Brunswick’s armour.

Map 2

Following the second map, make your way to the small outpost at Vidlak Pond. Behind the fisherman’s house, follow the path to the cliffs where you'll spot a large rock formation. Ascend to find a chest next to a cross, holding your next piece of armour.

Map 3

For the third map, fast travel to Zhelejov, head to the tavern, and then leave the settlement. Cross two bridges towards Tachov, but after the second bridge, veer onto a smaller path leading to the river and into the forest. Follow it to a hill where a large tree stands. Examine it to uncover some bones and a bag with another piece of armour.

Map 4

The fourth and final map will guide you to a hill between the Nomads’ Camp and Bozhena’s Hut. Scan the area for rocks topped with a cross, where you'll discover the last piece of Brunswick’s armour.

And there you have it, the complete guide to starting and finishing The Lion’s Crest in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*. For more tips and insights on the game, including romance options and the best perks to unlock first, keep an eye on The Escapist.
