Camper Waits for Switch 2 at San Francisco Nintendo Store Before Opening

The excitement for the Nintendo Switch 2 is palpable, with fans already taking extreme measures to secure their spot. YouTuber Super Cafe has made headlines by flying over 800 miles to San Francisco and setting up camp outside the new Nintendo Store, which isn't set to open until May 15. His goal? To be the first in line on the west coast for the anticipated release of the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5, 2025.

In a video released on April 8, Super Cafe shared his journey and his commitment to camping out for the next two months. Despite having moved into his apartment just two months prior, he admitted the financial decision to camp out was "terrible," but he remains undeterred. "Whatever, who cares," he remarked, showcasing his dedication to being at the forefront of this historic launch.

Super Cafe isn't alone in his endeavor. Similar to the New York Nintendo Store, where another content creator is also camping out for the Switch 2, the San Francisco location now has its own dedicated camper. Interestingly, Super Cafe mentioned he's mostly going solo but encouraged others interested in joining him to reach out.

As for the logistics of his extended stay, such as accommodations, food, and showers, Super Cafe plans to address these in a future Q&A. His commitment highlights the longstanding tradition of fans camping out for major Nintendo releases, a practice that continues to draw attention and admiration from the gaming community.

With both coastal Nintendo stores now featuring dedicated campers, it remains to be seen whether this will spark a wider trend of fans lining up. For those not willing to camp out, keeping an eye on our guides for Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders might be a more comfortable option, though the ongoing tariffs in the United States add a layer of complexity to the situation.
