Devolver Digital boasts an incredible lineup of games on Android, including GRIS, Reigns: Her Majesty, Downwell, and Reigns: Game of Thrones, to name a few. The excitement is palpable as another stellar title, Carrion, is set to join this prestigious list. Originally launched for PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One in July 2020, Carrion is a 'reverse-horror' game developed by Phobia Game Studio and published by Devolver Digital. Mark your calendars, as it's slated to hit mobile devices on October 31st.
In Carrion, you step into the role of a nightmarish creature, embodying the horror itself. This game flips the traditional horror genre on its head by making you the monster. You control a mysterious red blob that slithers, claws, and chomps its way through anything that stands in its path.
Labeled as a reverse horror game, Carrion puts you in the tentacles of The Monster, a creature confined within a highly secure research facility owned by Relith Science. Scientists have manipulated your DNA in an attempt to control you, but you’ve broken free, evolved, and are now seeking vengeance. Your mission is to escape the facility by any means necessary.
As The Monster, you consume scientists, security guards, and anyone else unfortunate enough to cross your path. You navigate through vents, break down doors, and use your tentacles to hunt down your prey. Carrion on mobile, much like its PC counterpart, allows you to unleash a wave of panic and destruction across the facility.
As you progress through the game, you'll unlock upgrades that enable you to burst through barricades and grow in size, enhancing your terrifying presence. Curious to see it in action? Check out the trailer below.
If you're a fan of Metroidvania-style games, Carrion is sure to captivate you with its blend of exploration and progression. The game's pixel art style adds a uniquely charming twist to the gore-filled gameplay.
On mobile, you can try Carrion for free. If you find yourself hooked, you can unlock the full game and its DLC with a single in-app purchase. You can pre-register now on the Google Play Store or wait to download it directly on October 31st upon its launch.
