Civ 7 Ghandi DLC Might Be Coming After All

Firaxis Games has hinted at the potential return of Gandhi to Civilization VII, possibly as DLC. This follows an IGN interview with lead designer Ed Beach, where the possibility was neither confirmed nor denied. Read on to discover why Gandhi was absent from the initial Civ VII leader roster.

Gandhi's Return: A Glimpse of Hope

In a February 13, 2025 IGN interview, Beach addressed the absence of several familiar civilizations and leaders from Civ VII's launch lineup. He stated that past civilizations haven't been forgotten, acknowledging the fan interest surrounding the omission of Great Britain and India.

Beach explained that the decision to exclude certain established civilizations, like Britain and India, stemmed from the sheer number of popular choices. To showcase fresh and exciting options, some familiar faces had to be left out initially. However, Beach reassured fans that Firaxis is considering the long-term inclusion of these leaders and civilizations, leaving the door open for Gandhi's eventual return.

Given the extensive DLC history of Civilization VI, the prospect of Gandhi appearing in Civ VII as DLC seems highly plausible. While the exact release date remains unknown, the possibility remains a strong contender.
