Congalala’s size and agility demand constant movement. Avoid its front and rear to minimize exposure to its breath attacks. It uses powerful hand slams, tail whips, and ranged breath attacks. Focus your attacks on its forelegs for easier openings. After consuming a mushroom, it becomes vulnerable during its gas attacks – exploit this for maximum damage to its head, tail, and rear. Use Deodorant or water to cleanse yourself of its fumes. Utilize Focus Mode and Focus Strikes to maximize damage output, particularly when countering breath attacks or ground slams.
Weaken Congalala significantly before attempting capture. The skull icon on the minimap and hunter dialogue indicate its readiness. Set up a Shock or Pitfall Trap near its sleeping spot, then use Tranq Bombs to complete the capture. Two to three Tranq Bombs should suffice.
