Crunchyroll has added Kardboard Kings to its Android game library. This single-player shop management simulator turns card shop operations into an adventurous experience. The game first launched on PC back in February 2022.
Developed by Henry’s House, Oscar Brittain, and Rob Gross, and published by Akupara Games, Kardboard Kings has been brought to consoles and is now available on mobile through Crunchyroll. If you're a Crunchyroll member, the game is free to download.
You step into the shoes of Harry Hsu, a young man who recently inherited a collectible card shop from his father—a former Warlock card game champion. As the new owner, Harry dives head-first into the bustling card market, managing purchases, trades, and customer sales.
Luckily, Harry isn’t alone. His companion Giuseppe, a clever cockatoo with a talent for negotiating, helps run the shop. Yes, you read that right: his business partner is a bird with sharper deal-making instincts than most people.
Set in a lovely seaside community, the shop keeps Harry constantly busy. He must keep customers content—or, for those feeling devious, he can try swindling them for extra profit.
The game’s characters are full of wit, sarcasm, and fun nods to other card games and anime. The card designs shine too, with more than 100 uniquely illustrated options including special foil variants.
It begins simply—buy low, sell high, and grow your earnings. But as you progress, card conditions and rarity tiers fluctuate. Factors like foil finishes, special abilities, and card popularity all affect market value.
Kardboard Kings also includes a roguelite deckbuilding mode on Card Game Island. Here, you'll face off against serious duelists. Other features include hosting tournaments, booster pack events, and clearance sales to manage inventory.
Crunchyroll members can download Kardboard Kings for free via the Google Play Store.
