Key additions include a permadeath mode, a speedrun mode, an enhanced photo mode, and expanded accessibility options. A new Horde Assault arcade mode challenges players with larger-than-ever Freaker hordes, providing a thrilling new gameplay experience for Deacon St. John. This remastered edition continues Sony's initiative to bring enhanced PS4 titles to the PS5. It joins other upgraded games like The Last of Us Part I and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered.
PC players aren't left out. Sony offers the $10 Broken Roads DLC for the PC version, unlocking the new modes, enhanced photo mode, DualSense support (where applicable), and accessibility features.
A PlayStation Blog post further details the improvements. Bend Studio highlights the PS5-optimized visuals, selectable between Performance and Quality modes, and enhanced visuals and DualSense features (haptic feedback and adaptive triggers) on PS5 Pro.
