First announced in 2018, the series boasts an eight-episode first season. Production is helmed by the acclaimed Studio Mir (known for The Legend of Korra and X-Men '97), under the creative direction of Adi Shankar, the showrunner behind Castlevania.
While plot specifics remain shrouded in secrecy, the series appears to center around Dante, likely drawing inspiration from the events of the first three Devil May Cry games. However, any direct connections to the game's canon remain unconfirmed. Interestingly, Dante will be voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch, who is known for voicing Nero in the video game franchise.
The last mainline entry in the Devil May Cry franchise was Devil May Cry 5, released in 2019. This title marked a triumphant return to form for the series, following a period of relative inactivity since 2013's DmC: Devil May Cry. Considered one of the best action games of its time, Devil May Cry 5 is highly recommended, especially for fans of titles like Ninja Gaiden Black 2.
