Dune: Awakening is set to launch with no monthly subscription, as confirmed by developer Funcom. Dive into the latest updates and explore the various editions available for purchase.
Dune: Awakening will see its full release on May 20, bypassing an early access phase. In a detailed blog post on Steam dated March 21, Funcom elaborated on the game's business model, system requirements, and plans for post-launch support.
This eagerly anticipated multiplayer survival game, inspired by Frank Herbert's iconic 1965 novel, will not require a monthly subscription, setting it apart from other MMOs like Final Fantasy XIV, World of Warcraft, and EVE Online. Funcom has committed to enhancing the game through free updates that will introduce new content, features, and improvements.
With a track record of supporting live service games, Funcom assures long-term support for Dune: Awakening. Their portfolio includes Anarchy Online, celebrating its 25th anniversary next year, and Conan Exiles, which continues to receive regular free updates, DLCs, and expansions.
Following the announcement, Funcom opened pre-orders on March 24, introducing three distinct editions of the game: Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate.
