FromSoftware has officially sent out confirmation emails for the upcoming Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test, sparking excitement among fans. Announced via their Twitter (X) page on January 30, 2025, those selected for the test eagerly shared their confirmation emails, expressing gratitude and anticipation for this pre-launch experience.

Participants will receive a follow-up email on February 11, 2025, containing a unique code for downloading the Network Test client on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S. The registration period for the test ran from January 10 to January 20, 2025. Unfortunately, those who applied but did not receive an email have no further information on additional testing dates.

FromSoftware describes the network test as a "preliminary verification test" where selected testers will play a portion of the game before its full launch. This test aims to verify the online systems through large-scale network load tests, ensuring the servers can handle multiple players simultaneously.

The Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test is scheduled from February 14 to February 16, 2025, with five 3-hour sessions:

  • Session 1 - February 14th from 3 AM to 6 AM PT
  • Session 2 - February 14th from 7 PM to 10 PM PT
  • Session 3 - February 15th from 11 AM to 2 PM PT
  • Session 4 - February 16th from 3 AM to 6 AM PT
  • Session 5 - February 16th from 7 PM to 10 PM PT

Scammers and Scalpers Already On The Move

Amidst the excitement, there are reports of scams targeting players on Steam. Fake invites to the Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test are circulating, redirecting users to malicious pages that hack accounts and spam friend lists. FromSoftware has clarified that all official communications regarding the test are only through their website and social media, making any external links suspicious and potentially harmful.

Additionally, scalpers have already started listing "confirmed test codes" on various online buy-and-sell platforms. These listings, appearing shortly after the confirmation emails were sent, feature exorbitant prices ranging from $150 to $200, with some even listed for auction, despite the codes not being available until February 11.

Elden Ring Nightreign was first announced at the Game Awards 2024 and is slated for release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. While FromSoftware has announced a 2025 release window, no specific date has been confirmed yet.
