E.R.P.O. introduces players to a thrilling world filled with menacing monsters, but unlike other survival horror games like Pressure, you're not left defenseless. You have the power to fight back and employ specific survival strategies to overcome these fearsome foes. Below is a comprehensive guide on how to conquer all the monsters in E.R.P.O..
As E.R.P.O. continues to introduce new monsters, bookmarking this page is highly recommended for the latest updates. Below, you'll find detailed guides on tackling specific monsters. While each monster has its own strategy, you can also use various weapons to combat them:
Melee Combat: From the Machete to the Hammer, these weapons are available in the shop for 10k to 20k cash. They'll appear in your next level; pick them up with M1 and swing at the monsters to inflict damage. Be cautious with ranged attackers like the Huntsman. Employ a hit-and-run tactic to minimize damage, and always carry healing packs for melee encounters.
Grenades and Mines: These can be purchased in the shop. To use a Grenade, pick it up with M1, unscrew it with E, then throw it or leave it to explode, dealing massive damage to weaker monsters and significantly harming tougher ones. Mines work similarly; place them and wait for a monster to trigger them.
Monster Brawl: You can manipulate the environment to your advantage. For instance, lure a Huntsman to shoot another monster by positioning yourself behind the target and making noise. Similarly, you can pull Reapers into each other's attack animations for mutual damage.
Now, let's dive into specific strategies for each monster.
The Robe, a shadowy figure, can be evaded by moving away to avoid its damaging grasp. Crouching and hiding are effective, or you can kite it while using 2 Grenades or 2 Mines to take it down. Melee combat is not advised due to Robe's high damage output. It also teleports and accelerates toward you if you look at its mask.
The Reaper, a raggedy doll with spinning sword arms, can be kited or avoided like the Robe but lacks teleportation ability. It's more vulnerable to melee attacks compared to the Robe. It can be defeated with 1 grenade and a few melee hits, with grenades and mines also serving to stun it.
These seemingly harmless ducks are non-hostile unless provoked by direct contact or environmental hazards. When enraged, they'll pursue and bite, albeit with low damage. Outrunning them is advisable, but if necessary, they can be dispatched with melee weapons or grenades, though the latter is excessive given their low health.
The Huntsman, a blind marksman, relies on sound to locate you. Avoid detection by crouching with C and hiding under tables. Melee combat is risky due to its one-shot capability and auto-aim. Instead, strategically place mines or throw grenades while crouched to stun the Huntsman for 6 seconds, allowing for a safe melee follow-up.
