Escape from Tarkov's 0.16.0.0 update is here, bringing a massive overhaul with new features and bug fixes. Battlestate Games has released an extensive changelog and a new trailer showcasing the changes.

• Khorovod Event: A new event featuring special tasks, rewards, and a unique "Khorovod" mode where players must light and protect a Christmas tree in six different locations.

• Prestige System: Similar to systems in games like Call of Duty, players who reach level 55 can reset their character, retaining some equipment and earning prestige-exclusive rewards (achievements, cosmetics, and quests). Two prestige levels are initially available, with eight more planned.

• Engine Upgrade: The game has transitioned to the Unity 2022 engine.

• Frostbite Status Effect: A new cold-related status effect impacting vision and stamina. Alcohol, warmth, and shelter provide relief.

• Winter Themed Updates: Various winter-themed additions and map adjustments.

• Customs Map Rework: The Customs map features updated textures, new objects, and points of interest.
