Explore Spider-Woman's Origins in New Marvel Contest of Champions Update

Marvel Contest of Champions is set to spice up April with an array of thrilling additions, headlined by the debut of the new champion, Spider-Woman. Alongside her, players will encounter another champion with a starkly different aura, making for an intriguing mix.

Here’s the Backstory of Spider-Woman in the World of Marvel Contest of Champions

Spider-Woman, born Jessica Drew, faced a harrowing childhood illness due to uranium exposure near her home. In a desperate bid to save her, her father—a brilliant geneticist—experimented with a concoction of spider DNA, which he injected into her. After years of battling the side effects, Jessica emerged with newfound spider powers, eventually embracing her identity as Spider-Woman. Players can add this formidable champion to their roster starting April 17th.

But before Spider-Woman makes her entrance, another champion, Lumatrix, will join the fray on April 9th. Known as one of the most lethal assassins crafted by the Founders, Lumatrix is designed for stealthy infiltration and deadly eliminations, wielding dazzling light-based powers.

What Else Is New?

On the narrative front, Act 9 Chapter 2, titled "Inquisition," unfolds with Carina severely injured after a confrontation with Ouroborus forces. Meanwhile, Doctor Doom aligns with the Fantastic Four to combat the spreading corruption of Chronoserpent. A new villain, Lotan, also emerges to challenge the heroes.

A new Event Quest, "Spy Games," kicks off on April 9th and runs through May 7th. Black Widow delves into the enigma of the Eidols, enlisting Spider-Woman's help to unravel the mystery.

Dark Phoenix returns in the Side Quest with "Dark Bounties," placing bounties on various Champions. Players must track them down to claim their rewards.

The "Incursions: Dark Phoenix Saga Sector" also makes a comeback, challenging players to assemble their strongest Saga champions to earn Dark Plumes, Light Essence, Tier 7 Basic Fragments, and 7-Star Class Signature Stones.
