FIFA Partners with eFootball for FIFAe World Cup 2024!

The unexpected collaboration between Konami and FIFA is setting the stage for an exciting esports event, marking a fascinating twist in the long-standing FIFA vs PES rivalry. The two giants are coming together for the FIFAe virtual World Cup 2024, with eFootball, Konami's premier football simulation game, serving as the official platform.

The In-Game Qualifiers Are Already Live In eFootball!

This year's tournament is set to thrill fans across two categories: Console (PS4 and PS5) and Mobile. A total of 18 countries will compete in the final rounds, including Brazil, Japan, Argentina, Portugal, Spain, England, France, Costa Rica, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Morocco, Netherlands, Poland, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Thailand, and Turkey.

From October 10th to 20th, players will dive into the three-part in-game qualifiers. Following this, the National Nomination Phases will begin from October 28th to November 3rd for each of the 18 participating countries.

The tournament will culminate in an offline final round at the end of 2024, though Konami has yet to announce the specific date. Even if you're not from one of the 18 countries, you can still participate in the qualifiers up to Round 3 and earn rewards like 50 eFootball coins, 30,000 XP, and other exciting goodies.

FIFA x Konami’s eFootball Is Amusing!

The irony of FIFA and Konami teaming up after years of rivalry is not lost on fans. To provide some background, EA Sports parted ways with FIFA in 2022 after a long-term partnership due to a disagreement over licensing fees. FIFA demanded a staggering $1 billion every four years, a significant increase from the previous $150 million, leading to the breakdown of negotiations. Post-split, EA released EA Sports FC 24 in 2023 without the FIFA branding. Now, FIFA has found a new partner in Konami’s eFootball for the FIFAe World Cup 2024.

Jump into eFootball by downloading it from the Google Play Store. Currently, there's a special event where you can unlock a custom-designed Bruno Fernandes and benefit from an 8x match experience multiplier to level up your Dream Team more quickly.
