Final Fantasy 14 Offers Returning Players Tons of Free Playtime

Final Fantasy XIV's Free Login Campaign Returns!

Square Enix has re-launched its popular Free Login Campaign for Final Fantasy XIV, giving players with inactive accounts a chance to return to Eorzea for a limited time. This campaign, running from January 9th to February 6th, 2025, allows eligible players four consecutive days of free gameplay across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.

The four-day timer begins upon logging into the game launcher. Eligibility is determined by account inactivity (at least 30 days prior to the campaign start) and adherence to the game's terms of service. Players can verify their eligibility through the Mog Station.

This generous offer coincides with the recent release of Patch 7.15, featuring new side quests within the Dawntrail expansion, including the continuation of the Hildibrand storyline and a new Custom Delivery client. Producer and director Naoki Yoshida's New Year's message also teased upcoming content, including Patches 7.2 and 7.3, slated for release in 2025, alongside smaller updates. He also dropped a cryptic hint regarding Dawntrail's narrative direction, sparking much player speculation.

The campaign provides a perfect opportunity for lapsed players to rejoin the adventure and catch up on the Dawntrail storyline before the arrival of Patch 7.2. While the campaign is active, players can also participate in the Heavensturn event (ending January 16th) and anticipate Patch 7.16 (releasing January 21st), which concludes the Dawntrail Role Quest series. The future of Dawntrail remains shrouded in mystery, but this free login period offers a welcome return to the world of Final Fantasy XIV.
