Forza Horizon 5, Xbox's acclaimed racing title, is making its way to PlayStation!
Playground Games surprisingly revealed that the latest Forza Horizon installment will be available on PS5 this spring. This follows other Xbox exclusives like Sea of Thieves and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny making the jump to PlayStation.
Developed by Panic Button in collaboration with Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games, the PS5 version will boast identical content to its Xbox and PC counterparts. This includes all Car Packs and expansions, such as Hot Wheels and Rally Adventure.
This strategic move reflects Xbox's increasing openness to releasing games on non-Xbox platforms, including PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. Xbox head Phil Spencer has publicly confirmed support for the upcoming Switch 2.
Recent financial reports shed light on Microsoft's gaming strategy. While Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny achieved 4 million players and PC Game Pass saw a 30% growth (boosting services revenue by 2%), overall gaming revenue declined due to a nearly 30% drop in console sales. This downturn might encourage Xbox to prioritize Game Pass and expand its game availability across different hardware platforms.
Forza Horizon 5 continues the popular open-world racing series. Offering a more arcade-style experience compared to its simulation-focused sibling, Forza Motorsport, Forza Horizon 5 lets players race and explore the stunning landscapes of Mexico. You can find our complete review here.
