Freedom Wars Remastered: A Deep Dive into Weapon Types
Freedom Wars Remastered allows players to equip two weapons of their choice before embarking on an Operation. With six distinct weapon types available, players can craft diverse builds to suit their preferred playstyle. This guide explores each weapon type, highlighting their unique traits and capabilities.
The six weapon types are all customizable and can be acquired through Operations or purchased from Zakka in The Warren. While Comrades' weapons are fixed, players can freely equip and change their own weapons and Accessory weapons at any time without penalty.
Weapon Types in Freedom Wars Remastered
Weapon Type | Traits |
---|---|
Light Melee | Quick attacks, ideal for fast-paced combat against single targets. Can sever Abductor limbs without a Flare Knife. |
Heavy Melee | Wide-ranging attacks dealing significant damage. Well-placed attacks can hit multiple Abductor limbs for multiplied damage. Charged attacks launch the player into the air. Slightly reduces movement speed. |
Polearm | Attacks involve charging through enemies, useful for maintaining distance. Charged attacks launch the polearm for substantial damage from a safe distance. |
Assault Weapons | High ammo capacity, perfect as a primary weapon for gun-focused builds. Can be fired while grappled with your Thorne for advantageous angles or safe distance. |
Portable Artillery | High single-shot damage with low ammo capacity. Explosive area-of-effect shots can hit multiple limbs for increased damage. Reduces movement speed. |
Autocannons | High rate of fire, large ammo capacity and magazine size. Individual shots have lower damage, but the high rate of fire compensates. Reduces movement speed. |
Unlike the player character, your Accessory doesn't need to manage ammo when using gun weapons. Experiment with different weapon combinations to discover your optimal combat strategy!
