Sony, in collaboration with game developer Santa Monica Studio, has unveiled the highly anticipated Dark Odyssey collection for God of War Ragnarök, set to launch next week. This exciting update will bring a wave of in-game equipment themed around one of the franchise's most iconic outfits, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the God of War series.
In a detailed PlayStation.Blog post, Sony shared the full scope of the God of War 20th anniversary celebrations, with the Dark Odyssey collection taking center stage. Available as a free update on March 20, this collection will be accessible to all God of War Ragnarök players on PlayStation 5 and PC. The update introduces a sleek, black-and-gold aesthetic that promises to enhance the visual appeal of Kratos and his companions as they navigate the realms of Norse mythology. Both Atreus and Freya will receive their own unique cosmetic sets, alongside a variety of shields and weapons for players to customize.
The highlight of the Dark Odyssey collection is undoubtedly the exclusive armor set and appearance for Kratos, reminiscent of the legendary skin from God of War 2 that was only unlocked by completing the game on God Mode difficulty. Players can access this coveted content by opening any Lost Items chest in the base game or directly within the roguelike Valhalla mode of God of War Ragnarök post-update. Additionally, the update will introduce the much-requested feature of customizing Kratos' weapons' appearance without affecting their abilities.
