If you're a fan of Japanese music, you're no stranger to HYDE, the iconic artist who has graced Madison Square Garden and sold over 40 million records. Now, HYDE takes the spotlight as the main character in a thrilling new endless runner game, Hyde Run, which has just launched globally.
Hyde Run, which initially debuted in Japan, is now accessible to players around the world. The game's developer and publisher, Phoenixx, aims to provide global fans with a unique way to celebrate HYDE's music through gameplay filled with nods to his illustrious career.
In Hyde Run, you'll find yourself parkouring through a dynamic concert stage and a futuristic rendition of Tokyo. You'll take on the role of HYDE in a high-speed chase across Neo Tokyo, deftly dodging obstacles, wall-running past billboards, and collecting musical notes along the way.
The game's atmosphere is distinctly more neon-and-noise than your typical endless runner. Hyde Run infuses the energy of a guitar solo and HYDE-specific fan service, setting it apart from other games in the genre.
As you navigate through the city, you'll have the chance to pick up various power-ups. These include magnets that attract notes to you and barriers that shield you from damage.
Before embarking on each run, you can equip items to give yourself a boost. Use a Note Gain to collect more notes, or opt for a Barrier if you're tired of tripping over obstacles.
Additionally, you can gather crystals, which unlock exclusive outfits and room items from HYDE's extensive career. Unlocking the Microphone Stand even grants access to voice clips from HYDE himself.

In Hyde Run, you can also personalize HYDE's room, filled with memorabilia spanning 20 years, from vintage tour gear to more obscure references. Hidden items within the game unlock additional messages and voice notes from HYDE.
Currently, there's a range of limited-time content available until June 10th, 2025. This includes the THE LAST ROCKSTARS Costume Set, which features HYDE in the iconic look from the music video, complete with matching ROCK Furniture such as leopard prints, vintage trunks, and stage spotlights.
For a more relaxed and summer-festival inspired look, there's the Bat Jinbei Costume Set. If you're after a more traditional Japanese aesthetic, you can opt for the Japanese-style furniture set, featuring bamboo, bonboris, and a wind chime resembling HYDE's Edyh character.
You can download Hyde Run from the Google Play Store. And before you go, don't miss our next news piece on the story-driven anthropomorphic adventure, Duck Detective: The Secret Salami.
