New Images and Details Revealed for The Lion King Ride at Disneyland Paris, Construction Begins Soon

Exciting new images, details, and a construction start date of Fall 2025 have been unveiled for the highly anticipated Lion King ride at Disneyland Paris. According to the Disney Parks Blog, this groundbreaking attraction will be a central feature of the newly reimagined Walt Disney Studios Park, soon to be known as Disney Adventure World. The Lion King-themed land promises to immerse guests in the iconic moments of the 1994 classic through an exhilarating water ride. Visitors can look forward to a towering 120-foot-high Pride Rock, alongside a variety of dining, shopping experiences, and character meet-and-greets.

A new concept image shared by Disney showcases Audio-Animatronics of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa enjoying a feast of grubs in a lush jungle setting. This scene is just one highlight of the ride, which also includes a thrilling 52-foot drop, just two inches taller than Tiana's Bayou Adventure. While an exact opening date has not been announced, the ride will follow the debut of World of Frozen in 2026, contributing to the expansion of Disney Adventure World, which will be double the size of the current park.

In addition to The Lion King ride, Disney Adventure World will feature other new attractions. The previously announced Raiponce Tangled Spin ride will see Mandy Moore reprising her role as Rapunzel, and the park will introduce the first-ever attraction themed after Up, a spinning carousel offering breathtaking views of the park's scenery.

The World Premiere, set to open on May 15, 2025, will serve as the new park entrance, designed to evoke the glamour of a Hollywood premiere. Adjacent to it, World Premiere Plaza, inspired by Broadway and the West End district, will host theaters showcasing productions like TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure, Mickey and the Magician, and Frozen: A Musical Invitation.
