Infinity Nikki's Phenomenal First Month: $16 Million in Mobile Revenue
Infinity Nikki, the latest installment in the popular Nikki series, has shattered expectations, generating nearly $16 million in mobile game revenue within its first month. This surpasses previous Nikki titles by an astounding 40 times, highlighting its immense popularity. The game's December 2024 launch quickly captivated players, with in-app purchases driving the impressive financial success.
The game, developed by Infold Games (Papergames in China), transports players to the magical world of Miraland. Players guide Nikki and her cat, Momo, through diverse nations, solving puzzles and overcoming challenges using magically-enhanced outfits powered by Whimstars. While styling Nikki is central, these outfits are crucial to gameplay progression.
Boasting 30 million pre-registrations, Infinity Nikki made a significant splash in the cozy open-world genre even before release. AppMagic data (via Pocket Gamer) reveals a strong launch week with $3.51 million in revenue, followed by $4.26 million and $3.84 million in subsequent weeks. While weekly revenue tapered to $1.66 million by the fifth week, the cumulative total still reached nearly $16 million. This dwarfs the first-month revenue of Love Nikki ($383,000) and significantly outperforms Shining Nikki's 2021 international launch ($6.2 million).
China Drives Success: Downloads and Revenue
China played a pivotal role in Infinity Nikki's success, contributing over 5 million downloads—more than 42% of the total—and significantly bolstering its financial performance.
Daily revenue initially peaked at over $1.1 million on December 6th, then experienced fluctuations. While daily earnings declined, reaching a low of $141,000 on December 26th, the Version 1.1 update sparked a resurgence, boosting revenue to $665,000 on December 30th – nearly triple the previous day's earnings.
Available for free on PC, PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android, Infinity Nikki continues to thrive. The developers' commitment to regular updates and seasonal events, like the Fishing Day Event, ensures continued engagement and growth.
