Krafton's highly anticipated life simulator, inZOI, will now launch on March 28, 2025. This delay, announced by director Hyungjin "Kjun" Kim on the game's Discord server, aims to build a stronger foundation for the game.
The decision follows overwhelmingly positive player feedback from character creator demos and playtests. Kjun likened the extended development time to raising a child, emphasizing the team's commitment to delivering a complete and polished experience. The temporary removal of the character creator from Steam (August 25, 2024) after achieving a peak of 18,657 concurrent players underscores the significant interest in the game.
While delays are often frustrating, Krafton's dedication to quality is evident. The delay allows the developers to address player feedback and avoid releasing an unfinished product, unlike the recently cancelled Life By You. However, this places inZOI in direct competition with Paralives, another life simulator slated for a 2025 release.
Despite the extended wait, Krafton promises a game players will enjoy for years to come. inZOI aims to differentiate itself from The Sims, offering unparalleled customization and realistic graphics, creating a unique space within the life simulation genre. The game plans to offer a wide range of activities, from managing character work stress to virtual karaoke nights with friends.
