The iPhone 16e succeeds the iPhone SE, last updated in 2022. Unlike its predecessor, the 16e boasts a size and spec profile closer to the standard iPhone 16. While priced higher than the SE ($429) at $599, it remains significantly cheaper than the standard iPhone 16 ($799) and even undercuts the iPhone 15 ($699).

The iPhone 16e features a 6.1-inch OLED display with a notch, unlike the standard model's "Dynamic Island." It's powered by the same A18 chip as the iPhone 16, but with a 4-core GPU (one less than the 16). Despite this, it supports Apple Intelligence for all iOS 18 AI features. The new C1 cellular modem promises improved battery life—up to 26 hours of video playback (compared to 22 on the iPhone 16).

However, MagSafe charging is absent. While Qi wireless charging is supported, the lack of magnetic attachment is a drawback. Color options are limited to black and white.
