Larian Reveals Exciting New Subclasses for Baldur's Gate 3

While many fans believed that Patch 7 would mark the end of major updates for Baldur's Gate 3, Larian Studios has exciting news: another substantial update is slated for release in 2025. This upcoming update promises to enhance the gaming experience with the addition of crossplay support, a photo mode, and the introduction of 12 new subclasses, each designed to offer unique mechanics and enrich gameplay.

Details about four of these new subclasses have been unveiled, and we now explore the remaining ones:

• Oath of the Crown Paladin: This subclass is dedicated to upholding justice and order, prioritizing the welfare of society. The Oath of the Crown Paladin possesses the Divine Devotion ability, which not only absorbs incoming damage directed at allies but also restores their health, making it a vital asset in any party.

• Arcane Archer: Blending martial skill with arcane magic, the Arcane Archer uses enchanted arrows that can inflict effects such as blindness, weakening, or even temporarily banishing foes to the Feywild. If an arrow misses, the Arcane Archer can redirect its path to hit another enemy, showcasing their precision and adaptability in battle.

• Drunken Master Monk: This unique subclass integrates alcohol into its fighting style. With a signature move that intoxicates enemies, leaving them disoriented, the Drunken Master Monk gains enhanced abilities. Utilizing Instant Sobriety on an intoxicated target inflicts both physical and mental damage, adding a strategic layer to combat.

• Swarmkeeper Ranger: By forming alliances with swarms of creatures, the Swarmkeeper Ranger taps into the power of nature. These swarms provide protection and aid in teleportation. In combat, the ranger can deploy three distinct types of swarms: electric jellyfish clusters, blinding moth clouds, and stinging bee legions. The latter can knock back enemies failing a strength check by 4.5 meters, offering versatile tactical options.
