Longvinter, after a three-year journey through early access on Steam, has officially launched version 1.0! This release incorporates extensive player feedback and bug fixes, delivering a revitalized experience for both veteran and new players.
The core addition in this update is the integration of oil rigs throughout the game's archipelago. Players can now extract oil, process it into fuel, and engage in intense battles against LRI mercenaries who guard vital supply lines. These new mechanics are complemented by exciting events like helicopter crashes, offering valuable tactical gear, and an hourly underground arena where players can compete for substantial rewards.
The game world has been significantly enriched with new wildlife: lynxes, wolves, wolverines, foxes, moose, and goats, all tamable and usable as mounts. A plethora of new items have also been added, including beneficial hats, tactical vests, weaponry, explosives, diverse kitchen recipes, and interactive building/decorating objects such as oil refineries, refrigerators, microwaves, power poles, and turrets. Weapon balance has also undergone substantial adjustments.
Future plans include the 1.1 update, featuring farming mechanics, an improved tutorial, apartment rentals, and shared community features. Furthermore, Longvinter's console debut on PlayStation is confirmed for 2026, expanding the game's accessibility beyond the PC platform.
