NetEase Games has exciting news for Marvel Rivals enthusiasts: a new hero will be introduced every month and a half as part of their ongoing seasonal updates. This announcement comes directly from the studio's creative director, Guangyun Chen, who shared the team's ambitious post-launch strategy in an interview with Metro. Chen emphasized their commitment to releasing a new playable character every half-season, translating to a new hero approximately every six weeks.

"Every season we'll be rolling out fresh seasonal stories, new maps, and new heroes. We'll actually be breaking down each season into two halves," Chen explained. "The length of one season is three months. And for each half of the season, we will introduce a new hero. We just eventually want to continue to enhance the experience, and, you know, keep everyone excited in our community."

As each season concludes, fans eagerly anticipate the reveal of the next hero. Marvel Rivals Season 1: Eternal Night Falls set a high bar by launching with Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman in the first half, followed by The Thing and the Human Torch scheduled for the second half in a few weeks. These iconic characters have solidified their status as legends in the Marvel universe, but maintaining this momentum will be an ongoing challenge for NetEase.

The game already boasts an impressive initial roster, featuring beloved characters like Wolverine, Magneto, Spider-Man, Jeff the Landshark, and Storm. However, the potential for new additions is vast, with rumors suggesting that characters like Blade may appear in Season 2. Fans are also clamoring for the inclusion of Daredevil, Deadpool, and more X-Men characters. While the exact future of the Marvel Rivals roster remains uncertain, the game's early success indicates that NetEase has no intention of slowing down.

In addition to new heroes, Marvel Rivals Season 1 brought a series of balance changes and gameplay tweaks, with more updates on the horizon. For those interested in staying up-to-date with the game, there are numerous resources available. You can learn about how some players are using the Invisible Woman to combat an alleged bot problem, explore the Hero Hot List, and understand why some players are turning to mods despite the risk of bans.
