Get ready, web-heads! Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is swinging onto PC on January 30th, 2025. This highly anticipated release follows the successful PC ports of Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered and Miles Morales. Learn more about the PC release date and features below.
The announcement, made during the Marvel Games showcase at New York Comic Con, confirms the January 30th, 2025 launch. Developed and optimized by Nixxes Software in collaboration with Insomniac Games, PlayStation, and Marvel Games, the PC version promises enhanced visuals and performance.
Expect ray tracing, ultrawide monitor support, and extensive graphical customization options. While features like DualSense adaptive triggers and haptic feedback won't be replicated, keyboard and mouse support will be fully optimized for PC players.
"Bringing the Spider-Man games to PC with Insomniac and Marvel Games has been fantastic," stated Nixxes' Community Manager, Julian Huijbregts. Insomniac's Core Technology Director, Mike Fitzgerald, added that the PC port is designed for a seamless PC experience.
All post-launch content from the PS5 version will be included, featuring twelve new suits (including Symbiote Suit styles), New Game+, Ultimate Levels, new time-of-day options, post-game achievements, and enhanced Photo Mode features. The Digital Deluxe Edition will offer even more. However, no new story content will be added.
A significant concern is the requirement of a PlayStation Network (PSN) account, a trend emerging with several PlayStation PC ports. This excludes players in regions without PSN access, raising concerns about accessibility. While Sony previously reversed a similar PSN requirement for Helldivers 2, the issue remains a point of contention for players.
This PC release completes the trilogy's arrival on PC, showcasing Sony's commitment to expanding its reach beyond PlayStation consoles. While the PSN requirement needs addressing, the move to bring these exclusive titles to a wider audience is a positive step. Game8 awarded Marvel's Spider-Man 2 an 88, praising it as a superb sequel.
