Metal Slug: Awakening is a modern reimagining of the beloved 90s franchise. Initially revealed in 2020 as Metal Slug Code: J by TiMi Studios, the game has undergone development and name changes, finally debuting in Southeast Asia in late 2023. Now, it's poised for a worldwide release.

For those unfamiliar, Metal Slug is a renowned Japanese run-and-gun series, originally launched in 1996 by Nazca Corporation and later expanding into a multimedia franchise. While previous mobile entries like Metal Slug Defense (2014), Metal Slug Attack (2016), and Metal Slug Commander (2020) existed, Awakening promises a significant upgrade.
