Monopoly GO! is set to launch into hyperspace with its latest event, following up on its successful Marvel collaboration last year. The Monopoly GO x Star Wars crossover is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious collaborations Scopely has undertaken to date.
The event is scheduled to start on May 1st and will run through July 2nd. The storyline begins intriguingly with PEG-E, the Monopoly GO robot, watching Star Wars in Mr. M's private cinema. Immersed in the saga, PEG-E dreams herself and her friends into the Star Wars universe, shifting the game's focus from real estate to the epic battle between Jedi and Sith, and the eternal struggle of the light side against the dark.
During the Monopoly GO x Star Wars Collab, players can collect a new Star Wars GO! sticker album. This album unfolds like a comic book, reimagining parts of the Star Wars universe through PEG-E's creative lens. The stickers feature beloved characters including R2-D2, C-3PO, BB-8, Yoda, Mace Windu, Luke, Rey Skywalker, Darth Vader, Kylo Ren, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, Grogu, Qui-Gon Jinn, and the Mandalorian.
The traditional Monopoly GO events are getting a Star Wars makeover, with mini-games set on iconic locations like Tatooine and the Mos Espa Grand Arena. Players might even witness Qui-Gon and Mr. M engaging in thrilling podracing action.
The event trailer, which debuted during Star Wars Celebration Japan, promises a gameplay experience steeped in Star Wars lore, complete with lightsabers, space travel, and a galaxy-spanning atmosphere. Like previous events, players will have the chance to collect other Star Wars-themed cosmetics, including tokens, shields, and emojis. Keep an eye on the game's social media channels for more news and updates throughout the event.
