Monster Hunter Rise: Outfit & Appearance Changes

Character customization is a cornerstone of any great RPG, and Monster Hunter Wilds delivers in spades. If you're wondering how to tweak your hunter's look, you've come to the right place.

Changing Appearance in Monster Hunter Wilds (Hunter and Palico)

Monster Hunter Wilds Character Creation

First, let's address your character's physical features. Monster Hunter Wilds boasts a detailed character creator, allowing for a highly personalized avatar. But what if you want to make changes later? No problem! Once you've unlocked base camp, head to your tent and access the Appearance Menu (using L1 or R1). Select "Change Appearance" to revisit the creator and adjust both your Hunter and Palico's looks.

How to Change Outfits and Use Layered Armor

Monster Hunter Wilds Layered Armor

The Layered Armor feature is available from the game's start. Again, navigate to your tent's Appearance Menu, then choose "Equipment Appearance." This lets you customize your Hunter's outfit using unlocked Layered Armor items. Remember, you can only use the Layered Armor you've acquired; you can't transmog your equipped armor with other armor types. The same option exists for your Palico, allowing you to equip them with Layered Armor as well.

If Layered Armor doesn't quite cut it, your only other option for changing outfits is forging and equipping new armor. Keep in mind that each piece of equipment affects your stats, so balance fashion with functionality!

Seikret Customization

The Appearance Menu also offers Seikret Customization. Here, you can adjust your Seikret's skin and feather colors, patterns, decorations, and even eye color.

That's how to customize your appearance and outfits in Monster Hunter Wilds. For more Monster Hunter Wilds tips and guides, be sure to check out The Escapist.
