Niantic is introducing a thrilling new feature to Monster Hunter Now with the Monster Outbreaks, and they're inviting players to test it out. This testing phase is crucial for gathering player feedback and making necessary adjustments before officially launching the feature.
The testing phase for Monster Outbreaks is scheduled to run from April 26th to April 27th. Each day, the event will be active for two one-hour windows: from 10:00 a.m. to 10:59 a.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 3:59 p.m., local time. This gives players multiple opportunities to engage with the feature over the weekend.
During the testing period, specific locations on the map, known as outbreak points, will be marked with a special icon. At these spots, you'll encounter swarms of 8-star Black Diablos. The challenge? Coordinate with other players to take down a total of 100 Black Diablos at each outbreak point within the one-hour window.
To participate, you must be at least Hunter Rank (HR) 11. Note that the party feature won't be available; only in-person group hunts will count towards the goal.
You can tap on the outbreak point icons to view details and even sign up on a roster to coordinate with other hunters. This sign-up feature adds an extra layer of organization and community engagement.
Black Diablos brings serious boss energy to these outbreaks. If you and three other hunters take down one monster, it counts as four towards the 100 needed. If you reach the 100-mark before time runs out, you can continue hunting Black Diablos for the remainder of the hour.
Successfully hitting the 100-monster goal at an outbreak point rewards your group with 3 Black Diablos Tailcases, 3 Ridges, 3 Primeshells, 3 Marrows, and 2,000 Zenny. Additionally, using the sign-up roster grants you a special Outbreak Test I Medal.
