NieR: Automata boasts an impressive arsenal of weapons, from the quirky Iron Pipe to the formidable Type-40 Blade. Amidst these unique YoRHa weapons, there's a standout that fans of Square Enix will recognize: Noctis' iconic Engine Blade from Final Fantasy 15. You can discover this legendary weapon during your first playthrough of NieR: Automata. Let's explore where to locate it and delve into its fundamental stats.
To claim the Engine Blade, head to the factory. It's not accessible during the game's intro, so you'll need to revisit as 2B. The earliest opportunity arises anytime after your initial visit, or you can use Chapter Select to fast-forward to Chapter 9 for a swift acquisition. Start from or fast travel to the Factory: Hanger access point within the factory.
From the access point room, take the right path which shifts to a 2D camera angle. Navigate past a fenced area, ascend broken stairs, and hop onto a conveyor belt cluttered with boxes. Be cautious of the subsequent conveyor belt with deadly presses; timing is crucial to avoid getting crushed. After crossing, ascend to a cylinder where you'll encounter two spider-like foes.
Proceed through the door to your left, climbing more stairs while dodging explosive enemies. Midway, you'll reach a section where the railing ends, and the platform extends toward the camera. Move forward to switch camera angles, leading to a 2D platforming segment. Leap across the tops of the presses, following the path to the left. Your journey culminates in a room with three chests: the Engine Blade awaits in the leftmost chest, while a locked chest sits to the right.
Stay alert, as more explosive enemies will descend from the ceiling as you approach the chest.
- Attack: 160-200
The Engine Blade can be upgraded up to four times, enhancing its light combo to 7 attacks. To achieve these upgrades, you'll need to find Masamune. Unlike the Iron Pipe, this weapon has a lower damage spread, offering players a more predictable estimate of damage output, making it a reliable choice for strategic gameplay.
