Avowed, Obsidian Entertainment's highly anticipated RPG, will achieve a frame rate of up to 60 frames per second (fps) on the Xbox Series X, according to game director Carrie Patel in an interview with MinnMax. While Patel didn't elaborate on specifics, the confirmation clarifies previous reports. The Xbox Series S version, as previously announced, will remain capped at 30fps.

Whether Avowed will offer selectable performance and graphics modes (60fps/lower visuals vs. 30fps/enhanced visuals) remains unclear. It's possible the 60fps target is the default setting for the Series X.

The game's release date presents a pricing quirk. Those willing to pay $89.99 will gain early access on February 13th, while the standard $69.99 edition launches on February 18th. This staggered release strategy, though employed by other publishers, has already been abandoned by some, such as Ubisoft.
