Orna, the fantasy RPG and GPS MMO by Northern Forge Studios, is launching Terra's Legacy, a unique in-game event tackling real-world environmental pollution. From September 9th to 19th, players fight pollution-themed enemies and contribute to real-world cleanup efforts.
Combating Pollution, In-Game and Out
Terra's Legacy merges virtual gameplay with tangible environmental action. Players discover polluted locations in the real world, reporting them through the Orna app. Northern Forge then transforms these locations into in-game "Gloomsites," representing real-world pollution.
At Gloomsites, players battle the Murk, a pollution-themed enemy, earning rewards and raising awareness. Defeating the Murk allows players to plant virtual trees and grow Gaia apples in these polluted areas. Gaia apples can customize characters and boost magical abilities, with harvesting available to all players. Increased player collaboration leads to cleaner virtual and real-world environments.
