Ever since the announcement of the upcoming DLC for Lies of P, titled Overture, fans have been buzzing with speculation about the new mysteries it might unveil. However, during the Game Developers Conference last week, IGN uncovered that one particular enigma—the game's surprising final cutscene—won't be clarified in the DLC.
For those yet to reach the end of Lies of P, here’s a spoiler-free summary: the game concludes with a cutscene that hints at future directions for the Lies of P universe. This scene has sparked intense speculation among fans about its implications and potential ties to the DLC. Yet, Lies of P director Jiwon Choi has confirmed that this cutscene is unrelated to the upcoming Overture. Choi tantalizingly added, "Please stay tuned for additional announcements in the future."

With Neowiz already confirming a sequel, Lies of P 2, it's plausible that this mysterious cutscene connects to that project. However, details about Lies of P 2 remain scarce, and Choi was tight-lipped about any sequel-related hints during our conversation.
Choi emphasized Neowiz's commitment to quality, stating, "What I can certainly tell you is when we share such news or media and assets with you, you'll know for sure that we are ready to present it to you. And that follows our strict focus on quality amid all the pressure that we talked about in the past. So that is the one promise that I can share with you, that when we actually share those contents with you and the news, we will be ready to share that with you."

The scene in question, which we discussed with Choi, is the infamous Dorothy scene. As detailed [here](u), the final cutscene features Paracelcus on a phone call, mentioning he will "find her, for sure. Another key of ours: Dorothy." The scene then reveals the iconic striped sock legs and ruby slippers of Dorothy from *The Wizard of Oz*, suggesting future narratives may weave in other public domain fairy tales. However, it's now clear this won't be explored in *Overture*.SPOILERS END HERE.
Choi did offer some tantalizing insights into what *Overture* will contain. He encouraged fans to replay the base game, pointing out that "When you play through the base game again, you'll see many hints that we scattered throughout the whole experience." These hints, he explained, are windows into the world that will be expanded upon in the DLC. Choi revealed that certain elements he had envisioned for the base game but couldn't include will find their place in *Overture*. Concept art for Lies of P: Overture
He also noted that some fans are already on the right track, as he frequently reads online theories and finds "some of them are quite close."
Additional details about Overture include an estimated playtime of 15-20 hours for experienced players. The DLC will be accessible after reaching a "certain" chapter of the game and can be played until the end. As previously announced, Overture is a prequel, transporting the main character back in time to Krat just before its fall. Expect new locations, enemies, bosses, characters, and weapons, though Choi kept specifics under wraps to maintain the excitement for the release.
