Pocketpair's Palworld, renowned for its expansive open-world exploration, continues to captivate players since its January 2024 launch. The Feybreak DLC significantly enhanced the game, introducing numerous crafting materials, including the valuable Dark Fragments. These fragments are crucial for crafting high-tier equipment, making their acquisition a priority for Feybreak explorers.
Dark Fragments are obtained exclusively from Dark-elemental Pals found on Feybreak Island. This is specific to Feybreak; Pals of the same element in other regions won't yield these fragments. Coastal Pals are often ground or water types, so venturing inland is necessary. Some Pals, like Starryon, are nocturnal unless encountered as boss variants.
Defeating or capturing these Pals (using Ultimate or Exotic Spheres is recommended) yields 1-3 Dark Fragments per encounter. The drop isn't guaranteed, but diligent hunting of Dark-elemental Pals will provide a sufficient supply.
The following Dark-elemental Pals yield Dark Fragments: Note that boss and predator variants exist in various locations.

While less reliable, single Dark Fragments may randomly appear on the ground in Feybreak. Thorough exploration is encouraged, though remember that frequent combat depletes ammunition, potentially impacting other challenges like facing Bjorn, the island's formidable Tower Boss.
Dark Fragments, though not overly abundant, are essential for specific items. They're primarily used in crafting specialized saddles, accessories for certain Pals, and enhanced boots for the player character.
The following items require Dark Fragments. Remember to unlock the schematics in the Technology Menu (or Ancient Technology Menu) using Technology Points, and ensure you have the necessary machines and resources.
