A Perfect Day Pocket – Go back to 1999 is the latest gem from Littoral Games, the creators of Growing Up and Chinese Parents. If you've enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of those titles, you'll find the same charm in this new Android release. The game boasts a similar art style to Growing Up, with beautiful water-colored, hand-painted visuals that tell a story all on their own.
To celebrate its launch, A Perfect Day – Go back to 1999 is priced at just $1.99 from February 27th to March 5th. After the launch week, the price will increase to $2.99 on Android. If you pre-registered, don't forget to visit Brother Cao at the Youth Palace to claim your Panda Quake Mini 4WD. Also, keep an eye out for the limited-time Easter egg, the Old Uniform, which can be found in ‘My Bedroom’ until March 26th.
As the title suggests, A Perfect Day – Go Back to 1999 takes you back to the year 1999, a hallmark of Littoral Games' focus on nostalgic storytelling set in the 90s and early 2000s. In this game, you step into the shoes of an elementary schoolboy caught in a time loop on the last day of 1999—December 31st. Your mission? To uncover secrets about your classmates, friends, and family while helping everyone have their ‘perfect day.’
The game delves deep into themes of memories, regrets, and choices. You have the chance to revisit childhood friendships, explore the lives of your young parents, and make decisions that shape the narrative. With seven time segments, eleven main characters, twenty event cards, and one free DLC, the game offers a rich, interconnected story structure that allows for different outcomes each time you relive the day.
A Perfect Day also includes a variety of mini-games that evoke the spirit of 90s gaming, such as a Mini 4WD race, a Gamicom console, and an arcade. With its interactive storytelling and nostalgic visuals, this game is definitely worth exploring.
