Pokémon TCG Pocket’s Trading System Gets a Major Overhaul
Pokémon TCG Pocket, while initially exciting, faced a significant hurdle with its trading system. The required, hard-to-obtain Trade Tokens and restrictive trading parameters proved problematic. However, a new update promises significant improvements.
Trade Tokens are being completely removed. Trading three-diamond, four-diamond, and one-star rarity cards will now use Shinedust. You earn Shinedust when opening booster packs containing cards already in your Card Dex. Existing Trade Tokens can be converted to Shinedust.
Further changes are planned, including adjustments to Shinedust acquisition and the implementation of an in-game sharing feature to facilitate trading. This feature will allow players to easily share cards they wish to trade with others.
Addressing Trading Challenges
The initial trading system's limitations stemmed from the inherent need for stricter controls in a digital environment compared to real-life trading, to prevent exploitation.
While these improvements are welcome, the rollout is slated for autumn, meaning players will need to wait several months. This slower-than-desired pace highlights a need for quicker responsiveness to player feedback.
