Pokémon Legends: Z-A Release Window Emerges

Pokemon Legends: Z-A – August 2025 Release Date Rumor

A potential release date for Pokemon Legends: Z-A has surfaced online, pointing towards an August 15, 2025 launch. This date, initially spotted on Amazon UK in early January 2025 and swiftly removed, aligns with The Pokemon Company's previously stated 2025 release window.

The game, announced during the February 2024 Pokemon Day celebrations, is a highly anticipated sequel to 2022's Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Following the exploration-focused gameplay of its predecessor, Pokemon Legends: Z-A is expected to continue the open-ended experience, prioritizing collection over traditional gym battles and the Pokemon League. Details remain scarce since its initial reveal.

February 2025 Confirmation Possible?

The leaked date's accuracy remains unconfirmed. However, given the original game's announcement during Pokemon Day 2024, its release date could similarly be unveiled during the 2025 Pokemon Day event, anticipated for February 27th. This date is supported by recent findings from a Pokemon GO dataminer.

Beyond a release date, fans eagerly await a gameplay reveal, which could also debut during the February 2025 Pokemon Presents broadcast.

Switch and Switch 2 Compatibility Confirmed

Initially announced as a Nintendo Switch exclusive, Pokemon Legends: Z-A will also be playable on the upcoming Switch 2, thanks to confirmed backward compatibility. While the post-launch DLC plans remain undisclosed, it's worth noting that Pokemon Legends: Arceus only received a single free update, "Daybreak."
