Rainbow Six Siege X, a big upgrade to the popular esports game announced

It has become a tradition for developers of popular esports games to make significant announcements just before the grand finals of their world championships. Ubisoft, the developer behind Rainbow Six Siege, followed suit as the game approaches its tenth year. True to form, they unveiled something monumental: Siege X.

Siege X is described by Ubisoft as a major upgrade to Rainbow Six Siege, not a sequel but far more than a simple update. It's akin to the transformation from Counter-Strike: Global Offensive to Counter-Strike 2—a substantial overhaul that feels like a new game while retaining all player progress and data from the original version.

More details about Siege X will be revealed during a special three-hour presentation on March 13, which will be held live in front of an audience in Atlanta. To mark the tenth anniversary of Rainbow Six Siege, Ubisoft is also releasing a special celebratory pack. This pack offers players the chance to unlock legendary skins from the game's earliest seasons, essentially providing an all-in-one collection of nostalgic items.
