Rainbow Six Siege X Won't Be a New Game, But Will Have Major Updates

Nine years after its launch, Rainbow Six Siege is getting a massive upgrade with Rainbow Six Siege X. Announced on February 17, 2025, by Ubisoft, the full details will be revealed in a dedicated showcase.

This showcase is scheduled for March 13, 2025, at 10:00 am (PDT) / 1:00 pm (EDT) in Atlanta, Georgia. Expect a deep dive into the game's evolution, promising an "immersive and one-of-a-kind Siege experience." The event will feature developers, creators, and players alike.

For those wishing to attend in person, tickets are available for USD $10, including an exclusive long-sleeve shirt and an in-game cosmetic pack. However, eligibility is limited to:

• Legal residents of the USA and Canada
• At least 18 years old
• A good standing Rainbow Six Siege account (not banned or sanctioned)

Ubisoft is also running a VIP giveaway for two lucky fans, offering a hotel stay, roundtrip flight, and entry to the showcase event. This giveaway is also limited to legal residents of the USA and Canada.

The update promises "new ways to play, deepened tactical gameplay, refined game feel, and major upgrades all around," with specifics to be unveiled during the showcase.

Rainbow Six Siege's 10th Anniversary

Originally released on December 1, 2015, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC (Rainbow Six Siege later came to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2020), the game has enjoyed a long and successful run as a live-service title. Rainbow Six Siege X aims to further extend its lifespan.

A Steam post on February 17, 2025, also revealed some immediate additions: a new operator, Aurora (with deployable bulletproof doors), a new elite skin for Aruni, and a new reputation system. These will launch in Season 1 of Year 10, "Operation Prep Phase," on March 4, 2025, in celebration of the game’s 10th anniversary.

Given the timing of Season 10's launch and the Rainbow Six Siege X showcase, it's likely the major upgrades will be implemented on the live servers at a later date.
