In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you can recruit two types of allies. The first type enhances your Hideout with new functions, such as the blacksmith, who allows you to forge and upgrade your equipment. The second type serves as combat companions in the world, equipped with upgradeable abilities that prove useful in various situations.
Once a combat ally joins your cause, you can manage them from the Hideout or any of the kakuregas you've unlocked. When called into action, they will deploy their initial skill and fight alongside you until either they are defeated or all enemies are vanquished. Constructing a dojo in the Hideout not only allows you to level up your allies but also enables you to have two allies equipped simultaneously.
While allies are optional and you could potentially miss them during your story progression, having an extra blade at your side can make all the difference.
