Marvel Rivals Charges Into Season 1 With New Content
Marvel Rivals kicks off Season 1 with exciting additions including new heroes, maps, and game modes. The update also introduces fresh challenges that reward players with free cosmetics, including an exclusive Thor skin. Here's your guide to activating Recursive Destruction in the Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown map.
The opening challenge in the "Blood Moon Over the Big Apple" event requires triggering Recursive Damage - a unique gameplay mechanic. This phenomenon occurs when players destroy objects that Dracula has influenced, causing them to regenerate in their original form. But don't start randomly blasting everything - knowing how to identify the right targets is crucial.
To locate destructible objects in Marvel Rivals, activate Chrono Vision. This special view highlights interactive elements on the map. PC players press "B" while console users use the right D-pad button. Only objects glowing red in Chrono Vision can initiate Recursive Destruction.

To complete this challenge, queue for Quick Match on Midtown. While you can scan the environment immediately with Chrono Vision, the critical red-highlighted buildings only appear after reaching the first checkpoint. Fight for control of the Fantasticar while keeping an eye out for these marked structures.
Between firefights, target these special buildings. The chaotic nature of matches might make the regeneration effect hard to spot, but consistent hits will count toward your goal. If you fall short of triggering the effect three times, simply replay the match. After completing this objective, you can tackle subsequent challenges featuring Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman.
Marvel Rivals is currently available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S platforms.
