The first season of the Creature Commandos animated series, also known as Monster Commandos, has concluded, marking the launch of a new DC Cinematic Universe under the creative direction of James Gunn. James Gunn confirmed before the show's release that The Peacemaker series starring John Cena is considered canon, with the exception of the cameo in Zack Snyder's Justice League. The events of The Peacemaker were referenced by John Economos, an ARGUS agent and Amanda Waller's sidekick, who also appeared in the animated series. Additionally, Peacekeeper made a notable appearance. The Suicide Squad film is also part of the canon, as mentioned in the show's first episode.

The series introduces various iconic locations from the DC Universe. The witch Cerci hails from Themyscira, the Amazon island home to Wonder Woman. Dr. Phosphorus, a criminal from Gotham, was captured by Batman. The Galaxy Broadcasting System (GBS), based in Metropolis, employed Clark Kent and Lois Lane. Dr. Phosphorus's wife is from Bialia, a country ruled by Queen Bee, where the Scarab that empowered Blue Beetle was discovered.

A soldier in the series mentions serving with Rick Flag Senior in Jharkhanpur, the home of the villain Ram Khan. The show also references Bloodhaven, the hometown of Nightwing, and Star City, the hometown of Green Arrow. The origins of Mermaid (Nina Mazursky) are set in Star City.

Sgt. Rock and Easy Company

In episode 3, we discover that G.I. Robot fought alongside Sgt. Rock and his team, Easy Company, during World War II. Sgt. There's speculation that Daniel Craig might portray him in a future movie, while Maury Sterling voiced him in the show.
